Super Hot & Spicy Chicken Wings

Submitted by our Group Member Brenda, these chicken wings are a sure way to wake up your taste buds! Make sure to have plenty of napkins on hand and maybe a gallon of milk to put out the mouth fire!

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frank’s Red Hot

  • 1/3 cup stick butter

  • 1/4 cup Siracha

  • 1 tbsp minced fresh onion

  • 1 tbsp minced fresh garlic

  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes

  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp garlic salt

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp ground mustard

  • 6-8 Chicken wings

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl.

  2. Add wings and coat with sauce.

  3. Let marinate at least one hour. (Best to marinate overnight in refrigerator.)

  4. Preheat oven to 425* Put wings in oven safe dish and use extra marinade to coat chicken if the skin starts to show through. Sprinkle extra red pepper flakes on top and cover with tinfoil.

  5. Cook for 30 minutes, uncovering for the last 15 minutes to get a crispy skin.

Quiche

Quiche is our family’s go-to for Christmas morning. Just a few minutes to assemble and less than an a hour to let the magic happen! This recipe makes 2 pies and is perfect for any type gathering. The best part about making quiche is choosing any variety of toppings to go in it. We used left over taco meat one time and stumbled upon a new favorite! Whatever you might have on hand that sounds good might just create your family’s new fave! Quiche reheats GREAT for leftovers too.

 

Ingredients

  • 2 deep dish frozen pie shells

  • 12 eggs

  • 1 can condensed milk

  • Velveeta cheese block

  • Salt and pepper

  • Topping Variations: sausage, bacon, ham, onion, bell pepper, tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli. (For Taco Quiche use: taco meat, onion, tomatoes, and serve with a side of salsa.)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together 12 eggs and 1 can condensed milk.

  2. Line the bottom of both pie shells with thin slices of Velveeta cheese; covering completely.

  3. Add your choice of toppings to the pie shells, distributing evenly. (Make sure any meats added are fully cooked)

  4. Pour the egg mixture over toppings into pie shells, dividing equally over both.

  5. Salt and pepper top of quiches. Optionally add shredded cheese to top.

  6. Cook at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later.

Creamy Ranch & Broccoli Pasta

This creamy pasta dish is quick and super simple with a total budget under 3 bucks! For a few bucks more add one of the additional meat options. Table ready in 15 minutes! This recipe is very easy to double in size if you’re feeding a larger crowd!

 

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. pasta (any kind)

  • 1/2 lb. frozen broccoli

  • 1.5 tbsp ranch seasoning

  • 1/4 cup cream cheese

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional additions: Chicken, Steak, Ham, or Tuna Fish

Instructions

  1. Boil pasta until tender; adding broccoli half way through.

  2. Drain pasta & broccoli and return to pan.

  3. Add butter, cream cheese, and ranch seasoning.

  4. Stir over low heat for 2 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  5. Optional additions cooked accordingly: Chicken, Steak, or Tuna Fish

Chicken Taco Roll-Ups

This is a personal favorite of mine! Great for after school snacks, party appetizer, or simply for the main dish! It’s a great way to use left over chicken in a tasty way too! You can add so many different options to make this recipe uniquely yours!

 

Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 cups shredded chicken

  • 2 8oz pkgs cream cheese

  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese

  • 2 Tablespoons taco seasoning

  • Flour tortillas

  • Seasoning to taste: salt, pepper, garlic

  • Optional additions: diced tomatoes, green onion, chopped cilantro, salsa, or avocado

Instructions

  1. Mix together in bowl: shredded chicken, cream cheese, Mexican cheese, and taco seasoning.

  2. Add any optional additions and season to taste.

  3. Spread thin layer of mixture over tortilla. Roll tortilla up and repeat until mixture is gone.

  4. Slice rolled tortillas into 1 inch slices and place on serving tray.

  5. Serve immediately or chill for later.

Simple Beer Bread

You have the entire meal, but no bread? We got you with this simple recipe with ingredients you probably already have on hand!

 

Ingredients

  • 3 cups self-rising flour (I used whole wheat flour and added 3tbsp baking powder)

  • 1 can beer (room temp, any brand)

  • 3tbsp sugar (less or more to taste)

  • Optional: 4tbsp melted butter

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour and sugar. (Add baking powder if not using self-rising flour)

  2. Pour in 1 can beer (room temp) and mix. Knead mixture into lump.

  3. Shape and plop into greased bread pan.

  4. Cover with towel and let rise for 45-60 minutes.

  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 min or until toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm or cool. (Optional: For a crispier crust, pour 4tbsp melted butter over top before baking.)

Jello Cake

Jello cake is a super fun & light tasting twist on a classic! Simple to make and sure to thrill the kiddos!

 

Ingredients

  • 1 Box cake mix

  • Eggs, oil, water per cake box instructions

  • 1 family-size box jello (Any flavor)

  • Whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Bake the cake per instructions on the box. Let cool.

  2. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes in the cake about 1 inch apart.

  3. Mix jello per instructions on the box. Pour jello over cooled cake.

  4. Refrigerate until jello is firm. Top with whipped cream and serve. Keep leftover cake refrigerated.
